Palo Alto, California: Twitter says it now has a complete ban on ads and posts on its platform that deny any form of climate change.
On World Earth Day, Twitter announced this important decision. Twitter has said it is banning all ads that speak out against climate change, even if it is based on science.
“We believe that those who reject climate change should not have the right to make money from Twitter. Such misleading advertisements can distract the public from the real and important discussion of environmental and climate crisis. Next month we will be adding more accurate weather information to Twitter. But anti-climate advertising will be banned under our policy. On the other hand, in case of any doubt about the information, experts of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will also be contacted.
Not only that, but Facebook, Google and Pinterest have also tightened their grip on misinformation about climate change.
