Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association (DCFA) President Shakir Umar Gujjar while estimating the price of milk at Farm Gate said that in the first phase there will be an increase of Rs 30 per liter while in the second phase time and According to the circumstances, it will be done after Ramadan, the new price will be effective from March 1, which will be Rs 170 per liter.
According to the DCFA President, the production cost of milk at Farmgate is Rs.177.70 per liter and Rs.197 per liter with profit of Rs.17.77.
He said that the rent per liter would be Rs 220 per liter including the profit of wholesalers and retailers while the new milk prices would be announced on February 25 in collaboration with other stakeholders.
The DCFA President expressed concern that the prices would be gradually increased to Rs 225 per liter by the end of this year.
The Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association said the increase could be significantly reduced if the Ministry of Commerce banned the export of essential commodities and withdrew 17 per cent sales tax on inputs.
