Appointment of match officials for Pakistan vs Australia series

Match officials have been appointed for a series consisting of three Tests, three ODIs and a single Twenty20 International match involving Australia’s tour of Pakistan after 24 years.

Aleem Dar, a member of the ICC’s elite panel, and Ahsan Raza, a member of the PCB’s international panel, will officiate in the three Test matches in the series. ICC chief match referee Ranjan Madugalle has been named head of the playing control team for the series.

Ranjan Madugalle from Sri Lanka is the only match referee to have played in more than 200 Test matches so far. Aleem Dar, a three-time ICC Umpire of the Year, has so far officiated in 136 Test matches.
Receiving the PCB Umpire for 2020 and 2021 awards, Asif Yaqub will act as the TV umpire in the first and third Test matches of the series. In the second Test, Rashid Riaz will fulfill these responsibilities.

The two umpires will also share on-field umpiring responsibilities with Ahsan Raza and Aleem Dar in the One-Day International and Twenty20 International matches in the series. Javed Malik will officiate the match in the Whiteball series.
