Hard disk of 22,500 GB was introduced

Leading hard disk maker SeaGate has begun selling a limited amount of hard drive with a capacity of 22 terabytes (22,528 gigabytes).

According to the website ‘Tom’s Hardware’, the 22 terabyte hard drive has just started selling to a few consumers but will soon be available for mass sale. And the price will be announced at the same time.

SeaGate says that single magnetic recording (SMR) technology has been used to store more data than ever before in traditional magnetic hard disks.
Thus 22 terabytes of data is successfully stored on a 20 terabyte hard disk.

There are a maximum of 20 terabyte hard drives available in the market, namely Sea Gate’s “Iron Wolf Pro” and Western Digital’s “WD Gold”, both of which cost more than 600.

Therefore, it can be expected that the 22 terabyte hard drive of KC Gate will also be quite expensive.

It should be noted that Sea Gate has already announced that it will offer hard disk drives with a capacity of 30 terabytes by 2023, 50 terabytes by 2026, and 100 terabytes by 2030.
