German President Frank-Walter has dismissed as “nonsense” claims that the coronavirus has turned the German government into a dictatorship.
According to international media, the German president said that such talk is tantamount to disrespecting the law and democratic institutions of government. “Such statements by activists opposing the Corona Lockdown are an attack on all of us,” he said.
However, the president acknowledged that talks should be started to resolve the controversy over the decision to make the corona vaccine mandatory. He said that it was his responsibility to initiate public debate on such important issues of public concern.
He also said that the decision to make the corona vaccine mandatory was different from other legal matters. The solution lies with the German government and parliament.
