The New Year is a new milestone, a new turning point and a new station in the life of any human being. In the new year, we should pay special attention to two things: what have we lost and what have we gained in the last year? And what will be our strategy for the coming year? What do we need to do to make our future construction and shaping plan work? The question also arises as to how the new year can be made profitable, memorable and full of achievements.
Because the new year is stepping into our lives with good wishes and hope for the future. Thanksgiving is upon us, which means the holiday season is in full swing. Gratitude means that a person recognizes the blessing of Allah, confesses it and is grateful for it.
Since Satan is man’s greatest enemy, he engages in worldly affairs in order to make man ungrateful, so that he may forget the blessings bestowed upon him by Allah and pursue further desires and become ungrateful. ۔
Thanksgiving is actually a way to remember Allah and if we want Allah to have mercy on us then we have to be thankful.
“The grateful believer is closer to peace” (Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq)
Human life is incredible. He spends all his life trying to make this inconceivable life worthwhile and yet he is not able to make his life worthwhile from which he can get peace and contentment. Life goes on in a race until it is time to leave and life comes to an end after years of distance.
Good times and bad times come in every human life. Sometimes circumstances bring him to a crossroads in life where all avenues of life seem closed. But remember, water also has to hit rocks to make its way and flow. Allah never closes the first way without opening the second way. Therefore, there are many turning points in a person’s life where he has to adopt patience, courage, trust and perseverance as well as gratitude.
In the Holy Qur’an, God says: “If you give thanks for My blessings, I will most certainly give you more, and if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe.” (Surah Ibrahim, verse 7)
Gratitude and ingratitude are opposites. Gratitude can never be in a heart that is ungrateful. An ungrateful person is always unhappy and dissatisfied, while gratitude increases your happiness, removes anxiety and restlessness. Suffering is part of life. Patience in sorrow and giving thanks to Allah in happiness is a sign of being a believer. The blessings that Allah has bestowed on us, even if we continue to give thanks to this holy caste by counting them all day long, are still less.
Gratitude creates many qualities in a person. The spirit of gratitude makes a person humble, recognizes his master and creates a spirit of benevolence. The spirit of gratitude provides an opportunity to count the blessings received and to be fully satisfied with them. It illuminates the future with new hope and conviction.
One of the ways to be thankful is to share the available blessings with the needy and the needy. Be thankful for the blessings that are available to you in the form of beautiful relationships. Be thankful for the blessings that are available to you in the form of knowledge and awareness. Be thankful to your Lord for the blessings that are available to you in the form of health and well-being. Be grateful for the blessings that are available to you in the form of good friends. Prostrate before the Lord of the worlds for the wishes and intentions which Allah has fulfilled for you in the last year and hope for the coming new year.
Count all the blessings you have received in the past year and be thankful to your God. Total blessings will be abundant only when you give thanks for the blessings you have received before. In the new year there are new achievements, new dreams and new goals and new heights, the secret of reaching them successfully is to make gratitude a part of one’s personality or caste with all one’s heart and soul. This passion will open the door to immense successes and accomplishments for you.
May the coming New Year bring peace, contentment, health and lasting happiness to all of us. May Allah make us all sharers of happiness and ease and may He be pleased with us all.
