It is now possible that eye lenses can tell me and you about many diseases, including diabetes. The lenses are equipped with state-of-the-art microchips and sensors.
The company, based in California, has developed it over the years with the main lens made of flexible hydrogel. Its edge is adorned with microelectronics, thanks to which fine circuits, sensors and microchips are fitted. Despite such a system, nothing is felt in the eyes.
The entire system inside the lens takes care of the size, shape and outer surface of the inside of the eye. If there is a change in the tiny veins of blood in the eyes or some fluctuations in the retina, it is immediately noticed. Its data reaches smartphones and computers in real time thanks to the app.
The lens has the ability to detect glaucoma and other diseases. But most importantly, if the blood sugar level somehow rises, the lens wearer will know. This way we can interpret the lens as a doctor’s eye.
The company claims to have developed the world’s first soft electric circuit contact lens. However, the company has not announced the price.
