4,000 year old board game discovered in Oman

A team of archaeologists has discovered a 4,000-year-old board game in Oman.

The board game belongs to the Bronze Age in Oman. The discovery was made by the Center for Mediterranean Archeology at the University of Warsaw in Poland and the Oman Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

The purpose of this joint project of Oman and Poland is to investigate the ancient human settlement in the Al-Hijr mountain range in northern Oman. Experts have been analyzing the region since 2015 and so far there have been numerous discoveries, most of which date back to BC.
According to a press release from the University of Warsaw, teams are currently focusing on the Bronze Age relics, most recently the discovery of the board game.
