For the first time in history, schools and business centers remained open in the United Arab Emirates on Friday after the weekend changed.
According to the foreign news agency, the weekly holiday in the UAE has been changed and now the weekly holiday will be on Saturday and Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday.
The United Arab Emirates announced the change of Friday holiday in December last year. A statement issued by the UAE said the decision to change the weekly holiday was taken in view of increasing business competition from Saudi Arabia and compatibility with other countries for better business opportunities.
