Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk has resigned, following weeks of a controversial deal with the military.
According to foreign media, Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk signed a controversial political agreement with the army in November 2021.
In a televised address, the Sudanese prime minister said that he had tried his best to prevent the country from collapsing, but that what had been said had not been done. Now there must be another opportunity to take over the country.
Abdullah Hamdouk was placed under house arrest by the Sudanese army after taking power in October 2021, but was reinstated after signing a power-sharing agreement in November.
On the other hand, protests against the military government continue in Sudan. Two people were killed when security forces opened fire on protesters on Sunday.
At least 56 people have been killed in protests in Sudan since October 2021.
