Four eminent personalities of Pakistani film and drama industry will act in a drama series on the life of Muslim hero Salahuddin Ayubi with the joint efforts of Turkey and Pakistan. Ayesha Omar and Ashna Shah have also become part of the series.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Ashna Shah, Adnan Jilani, Farhan Agha and Ayesha Omar have been selected in the first phase of auditions for the series in Karachi and Lahore.
At the audition, more than 6,000 professional and emerging artists applied for the test. However, only 62 of these actors have been shortlisted. The series will be shown in Pakistan and Turkey.
The executive producers of the series and well known actors Adnan Siddiqui, Humayun Saeed, Dr Kashif Ansari and Dr Junaid Ali Shah while talking to BBC Asian Network said that they are excited for the series and the drama series will surprise Pakistanis in need.
Adnan Siddiqui further said that this series will open the door for Pakistan in the international market and Pakistan will be able to enter the global market through Turkey.
Turkish producer Emre Konak says that an agreement has been reached between Turkish production house Akli Films and Pakistani company Ansari & Shah Films on a series on the life of Salahuddin Ayubi.
He said that Salahuddin Ayubi’s series has gained popularity even before its release, the style of which can be gauged only from the applications received for auditions.
