Tel Aviv: Israel bans 8,000 Australians from leaving the country
According to foreign media, Israel has banned an Australian citizen from leaving Israel for 8,000 years for not providing for his children.
An Israeli court has ruled that Noam Hoppert, an Australian citizen, will not be able to leave Israel until the year 9999 if he does not pay 33 3.34 million for child support.
Noam Hoopert, who works for a pharmaceutical company, said his only crime was that he married an Israeli woman. Noam Hoopert has been in Israeli custody since 2013.
