Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the names of four players for the 2021 Test Player of the Year award.
The ICC has nominated two batsmen and two bowlers for their outstanding performance during the year 2021 for the Test Player of the Year award.
The International Cricket Council includes England captain Joe A. Root, Indian bowler Ashwin, Kiwi fast bowler Kyle Jamieson and Sri Lankan batsman Weymouth Kronartney.
No Pakistani player has been nominated for the Test Player of the Year award this year.
According to the ICC, Joe Root played 15 matches in a year and scored 1,708 runs with the help of 6 centuries.
Sri Lankan batsman Krunartne played 7 Test matches in one year and scored 902 runs at an average of 69.38 with four centuries.

Kiwi bowler Kyle Jamieson played five Test matches during 2021, during which he took 27 wickets.
Indian spinner Ashwin has taken 52 wickets in 8 Test matches during the year while he has also scored a century in the all-rounder match against England.
The ICC has also given the spectators the right to choose the best player of the year, the final decision of which will be taken after a joint opinion of eminent journalists and broadcasters.
