KARACHI: The last six members of the West Indies squad, who were victims of Corona, also returned home on Sunday.
Among those who left were ODI captain Shy Hope, Aqeel Hussain, Justin Graves along with assistant coach Rudy Stoke and physician Akshay Man Singh. Earlier, four members of the Corona family returned home on December 20. They included Kyle Myers, Sheldon Cottrell, Ruston Chase and Media Manager Dario.
It is to be noted that 9 members of the West Indies squad were quarantined after the results of the Cove 19 Test were positive. After the T20 series was postponed to ODI series, 21 members of the 30-member West Indies squad had returned home earlier. The nine Corona victims were kept in quarantine at a local hotel.
The 26-member West Indies squad arrived in Karachi on December 9 for a tour of Pakistan, while four members had arrived with the Pakistani team a day earlier. Upon arrival, three West Indies players, Sheldon Cottrell, Ruston Chase and Kyle Myers, along with media manager Dario’s Corona test, came back positive.
On December 16, three more players and two members of the support staff tested positive for the Covid 19. They included Shy Hope, Aqeel Hussain, Justin Graves, assistant coach Rudy Stoke and physician Akshay Man Singh.
