There were 279 abducted female students in Nigeria

Abuja: Kidnappers release all Nigerian boarding schoolgirls

According to the International News Agency, all 279 schoolgirls abducted from a boarding school in Nigeria have been handed over to government authorities by their captors.

Confirming the release of the abductors, Dr. Belo Matawale, Governor of Zamfara, Nigeria, said that all the female students had undergone a medical examination and were in good health.

Journalists pointed out that the number of female students abducted from the school was initially reported as 317, to which Governor Zamfara replied that the number of female students abducted was only 279. However, it is not clear under what agreement the release of the students was carried out.

It is noteworthy that a boarding school in the Nigerian state of Zamfara was attacked by armed men and hundreds of female students were abducted. Initially, the number of abductees was reported as 317.
