Karachi: Pakistan made a clean sweep of the series by defeating West Indies by 7 wickets in the third T20 match.
In the ongoing match at the National Stadium, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 207 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The West Indies team hit 14 fours and 12 sixes in total. 49 and captain Nicholas Puran scored 64 runs. Muhammad Waseem took 2 wickets while Shahnawaz Dhani took 1 wicket.
Pakistan batted and achieved the target of 208 runs given by the West Indies team in 18.5 overs at a loss of three wickets. Opener Mohammad Rizwan scored 87 and Babar Azam 79 and played a pivotal role in the team’s victory. Fakhr Zaman scored 12 and Asif Ali 21 runs.
Two changes were made in the team, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf were replaced by Shahnawaz Dhani and Mohammad Hasnain.
On the other hand, the ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies cricket team has been postponed due to confirmation of corona virus in the players. The series was postponed after the corona test of 6 players and 2 officials came back positive. A joint statement was issued by the PCB and the West Indies Cricket Board. The West Indies cricket squad will return home tonight.
It should be noted that the series of 3 ODI matches between Pakistan and West Indies was to start from December 18 in Karachi. The ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies was part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.
