WASHINGTON ( Reuters) – At least 50 people are feared dead after a tornado swept across the United States, destroying everything in its path.
According to the World News Agency, hurricane-force tornadoes wreaked havoc in the US states of Kentucky, Arkansas, Illinois, Missouri and Tennessee. Many buildings were destroyed, traffic was disrupted and electricity was disrupted.
The governor of Kentucky says a powerful tornado has struck 110 people, with at least 50 feared dead, while the situation in other areas is not good.
The state of Kentucky has been hit the hardest by hurricanes and tornadoes. Buildings were also destroyed in Graves County and Mayfield Town, and Graves County Courthouse and the adjoining jail were damaged.
Two deaths were reported in the state of Arkansas and the Amazon Warehouse building in the state of Illinois was damaged.
Relief work is underway in all the states. Authorities fear the death toll could rise.
