New Delhi: A black box and voice recorder of General Bipin Rawat’s wrecked military helicopter have been found in India.
According to Indian media, the black box of an Indian Air Force helicopter that crashed in Tamil Nadu yesterday was found. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told Parliament in a briefing that the voice recorder of the helicopter had also been found.
Rajnath Singh said that the remains of General Bipin Rawat and his wife would be brought to New Delhi this evening and the last rites would be performed tomorrow.
Yesterday, India’s first Defense Chief of Staff General Bipin Rawat’s helicopter crashed shortly after takeoff in Tamil Nadu. Thirteen people, including Bipin Rawat and his wife, were killed in the crash.
Indian Air Force Group Captain Varun Singh, the only survivor of the helicopter crash, is in critical condition at the hospital’s life support system.
