Karachi: The eighth round of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy has started while Shaun Masood has scored another three figure innings.
Balochistan scored 283 runs for the loss of 5 wickets against Central Punjab at NBP Sports Complex. Shaun Masood scored 102 runs for the second century. Imran Butt scored 65, Ayaz Taswar 36 and Kashif Bhatti 30 not out. Zafar Gohar and Hussain Talat hunted 2, 2.
After losing 9 wickets for 98 runs at UBL Sports Complex, Sindh declared the first innings and deprived Northern by 3 valuable points.
At the top of the points table, Sindh’s Umair Bin Yousuf stood out with 33 runs, Sohail Khan scored 14 runs, Amir Hamza remained unbeaten on 18, Sharjeel suffered zero wickets, 7 players could not enter double digits, Athar Mahmood scored 23 runs. Kashif Ali took 3 wickets and Mohammad Musa took 2 wickets.
It should be noted that the team that dismisses the rival side for less than 200 runs is entitled to 3 points.
In reply, Northern secured 136 for 2 at the end of the opening day’s play. Sarmad Bhatti was unbeaten on 53 and Umar Amin on 69. Both the wickets went to Sohail Khan. Declared innings after 9th wicket fell.
Mohammad Imran remained prominent with 64 runs, Yousuf Babar 28 and Tayyab Amir 26 runs. Arshad Iqbal took 4 wickets while Irfanullah and Asif Afridi took 2 wickets each. In reply, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lost 2 wickets for 45 runs. Israrullah scored 16 and Musaddiq Ahmed 11 runs. Ashfaq Ahmed is on the wicket with 15 runs.
