Doha: A Spanish construction company has built a football stadium for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha, Qatar, using about a thousand containers.
When construction began four years ago today, it was renamed “Ras Abu Abboud” Stadium, but after its recent completion, it was renamed “974 Stadium” in Doha. The postal code for this area of the city is While only 974 containers have been used in it.
The football stadium has a capacity of 40,000 spectators. Once the World Cup is over, it can be broken up into pieces again. The stadium structure is built on a strong steel framework with containers used for spectator seats, media center, toilets and other similar venues.
The Qatari government is currently promoting this unique stadium in order to attract more foreigners to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup and to achieve profit targets.
