Hobart: Australia’s Test captain Tim Penn has announced his resignation from the captaincy.
During a press conference in Hobart, Australia, Tim Penn announced his resignation from the captaincy of Test cricket.
“I am announcing my resignation from the captaincy of the Australian Test cricket team. This is a difficult but right decision for me, for cricket and for my family,” said Tim Penn.
Tim Penn was named captain of the Australian Test cricket team in 2018, replacing Steve Smith.
In 2019, under Tim Penn, Australia won the first overseas Prize Series in 18 years. The Australian cricket team has accepted the resignation of Tim Penn.
Australian Cricket Board officials say Tim Penn will be available for selection in the upcoming Ashes series Test squad.
