Karachi: Asif Ali’s six runs to ICC, Pakistani Power Hatter’s name has been included in the Player of the Month nominees, Shakib Al Hasan and David Visa will compete for the award.
The International Cricket Council announced the Player of the Month nominations on the basis of performance in October, including Pakistani power hitter and finisher Asif Ali along with Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and Namibia’s David Visa.

The ICC itself declared Asif a match finisher. He played three matches in the T20 World Cup last month and scored 52 runs at a strike rate of 273.68. Against New Zealand, Asif Ali led his team to 27 runs off 12 balls. In the 19th over of the match against Afghanistan, he hit 4 sixes and one over before the team won.
Nominated for the award, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored 131 runs at a strike rate of 109.16 in six matches of the opening and Super 12 rounds of the World Cup. He also took 11 wickets at an economy rate of 5.59.
David Visa, who joined the Namibian team from South Africa, scored 162 runs at an average of 132.78 in 8 T20 matches last month and also dismissed seven players at an economy rate of 7.23.
Zimbabwean captain and all-rounder Marie Ann Mossonda has been nominated for the Women’s Player of the Month award along with Ireland all-rounder Laura Delaney and better Gabby Lewis.
