Scotland won the toss and elected to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Ground. New Zealand scored 172 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs and gave Scotland a target of 173 to win.
Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell started the innings for New Zealand, first Daryl Mitchell and then Kane Williamson were out for a total of 35 runs.
