England defeated Sri Lanka to reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.
In the Group Two match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup played in Sharjah, England batted first and scored 163 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs in reply to which Sri Lanka were bowled out for 137 runs.

For Sri Lanka, Nisanka 1, Koshal Perera 7, Asalanka 21, Ayushka Fernando 13, Raja Pakse and Dashan Sanka scored 26.26 while Hasaranga de Silva scored 34 runs.
Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Moin Ali took 2.2 wickets each for England.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat. The English team’s first 3 wickets fell to 35 runs, opening batsman Jason Roy was the guest of only 9 runs, David Milan 6 and Johnny Bresto returned to the pavilion without opening an account.
