California: Facebook has changed its brand name to ‘Meta’.
Facebook has announced the company’s new name at its annual virtual conference, which Facebook has also confirmed via tweets on its official Twitter account.
According to the Facebook announcement, all apps managed by the company, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, will not be renamed. The reason for the name change is the recent negative news about Facebook and the accusations leveled by former employee Frances Hogan, who said that Facebook prioritizes its own profit over the protection of users.
