Mumbai: Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and actor Ranveer Singh are all set to buy a cricket team in the Indian Premier League.
The website Outlook India.com has claimed in a report that Deepika Padukone and her husband Ranveer Singh intend to buy a cricket team in the IPL for which they have completed the plan.
The report says that Deepika and Ranveer have decided to step into the world of cricket for new investments. The couple will participate in the bidding for the new IPL teams. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is going to add more teams to the IPL in the year 2022.
Interestingly, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film is also about cricket. In director Kabir Khan’s film ’89’, Ranveer Singh will play the role of well-known Indian cricketer Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone will play the role of his wife Rumi Bhatia. The film will be released on Christmas Eve this year.
There is a close relationship between IPL and Bollywood. Bollywood’s ‘King’ Shah Rukh Khan and actress Johi Chawla own the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. Similarly, Team Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kandra and his wife actress Shilpa Shetty. Actress Preity Zinta is the owner of Punjab Kings.
