London: British health experts have suggested vaccinating 16- and 17-year-olds against the corona vaccine.
According to the BBC, health experts have suggested that 16- and 17-year-olds should also be vaccinated against corona.
The UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI) last month suspended the decision, saying it was still examining the benefits and risks of the corona vaccine in young people.
According to the report, if the proposal is implemented, about 1.4 million young people will be able to benefit from the corona vaccine, but it is not yet clear when it will be implemented. White House sources said that the British ministers are expected to approve the JCVI’s advice and it will be formally announced soon.
“We hope to receive an update soon on the JCVI’s advice to vaccinate 16- and 17-year-olds,” said Scottish Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Earlier, British young people under the age of 18 were allowed to be vaccinated if they had a health problem or had a weakened immune system. According to the British National Health Service, 223,755 young people under the age of 18 have been vaccinated for the first time across England.
It should be noted that in the United States, Canada and France, children and adolescents 12 years of age and older are being vaccinated regularly.
