Explosion At A German Chemical Factory

BERLIN (Reuters) – One person was killed and 16 others were injured when a bomb exploded at a chemical site in Germany on Friday, officials said.

According to the international news agency, a powerful explosion took place in a chemical factory located in the industrial area of ​​Leverkusen, Germany. The blast was so powerful that it shattered the windows of nearby factories and vehicles.

After the explosion, terrible flames quickly engulfed the entire factory and clouds of black smoke covered the industrial area.
The cause of the blast has not yet been determined, but company sources claim that the blast took place at a location where there was a stockpile of smelting and dissolving chemicals.

Rescue agencies have launched rescue operations and local residents have been instructed to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed. 16 injured have been brought to the hospital out of which 4 are in critical condition while the body of one laborer has been brought.
